Circle skirt DIY

I have been seeing this skirt all over the place and I decided to help you make one here today! Yes this does require sewing but maybe you can cheat your way out of sewing by using fabric glue. So lets get started.

The materials you will need are:
•Some fabric
•Needle and thread or sewing machine or fabric glue
•Pins
•Measuring tape
•Scissors
•Iron
First, lay out your piece of fabric and lay it flat on the ground or flat surface.

Next, you're going to fold it in half
And then fold it one more time

Okay this is where it gets hard to explain. What I did here is a took a pin and pinned the measuring tape down.
Then I chose how long I wanted my skirt and starting from one end I made a small mark with a pencil. Then, I slowly moved the measuring tape along making little marks. You also want to make sure the pin stays in place. The measuring tape should only be able to move in a circle so basically you have a giant compass. Also make sure that if you want your skirt 20 inches then always make the marks at 20 inches.
Before you cut it out you will need to make a hole for your waist. I forgot to include a photo but it is the same process as making to circle skirt. Take your measuring tape pinned down and move it along while making marks. For the waist it will be about 2 inches for small, 3 inches for medium, 4 inches for large and so on. Once you completed that cut out the skirt.
Okay this step is optional and it's just if you need a hem. Circle skirts are kind of tricky to hem so I tried to find the easiest way possible. So if you have a sewing machine just do a simple stitch around the skirt. After you completed that fold the fabric over on the stitch and iron it. Fold it over one more time for a nice clean hem. Then simply sew the hem. If you want to just skip the hemming part just get a really thick fabric or fake leather.
With extra fabric you have make a long strip for your waistband and sew one end.
This is just the final process of adding the waistband. You can also add a zipper if needed.

Now you have just made a circle skirt that you can show off to all of your friends and feel proud that you made something! Good luck!
