Merise Method - A Short Introduction

   I have looked everywhere online to find a detailed look at the Merise Method in English, but naturally since it is used primarily in France it is only available in French. So, this is for everyone who has ever been interested in learning a new methodology or are just curious, here you go.

What is the Merise Method?
Merise is an extremely French methodology system that was developed in 1980, and is still widely used today in France. It is the process of constructing an information system through analysis, conception, realization and management. There are different kinds of methodologies and some that are known more globally like SSADM (Structured Systems Analysis and Design Method).

The life cycle of Merise

The level of abstraction
Conception level --> General study
Organisational level --> Detailled study
Logic level --> End of detailed study
Physical or material level --> Realization

The abstraction cycle

MCC or Conceptual Model of Communication is the investigation of the current environment, which ultimately allows the realization of MCD and MCT.
MCD or The Conceptual Data Model is a model that represents the structure of the information, from the point of view of the data. This looks closely at the relationships between various key points like the relationship between clients, products, orders, etc.
MCT or Conceptual Model of Treatments is a model that represents the different treatments and responses to specific actions.
MLD or Logical Model of Data contains the contents of the MCD but specifies the structure and organization more clearly so it can be implemented.
MLT or Logical Model of Treatments which specifies the parts and means to be implemented. It is in this part where each role is put into place.

Thank you so much for reading this! Of course this is only Part 1 and there is so much more to discuss in the Merise Method, so I will continue to fill you in when I have more time!
